It has been shown by Volger and Admiraal [1] that one can construct a superconducting dynamo on basis of the flux conservation law for multiply-connected superconductors by choosing the right topology. While theirs was basically a homopolar generator we have constructed a similar device which Is more like an ordinary dc generator, having a much higher efficiency and allowing more constructional freedom. An Important application of this generator is to energize superconducting magnets, especially when large currents are needed.
