Abstract
Greatly intensified attention to processes of metastable liquid-liquid phase separation in glasses is a fundamental feature of the present period of research in the theory of the glassy state. It is important to stress that Soviet scientists were the best prepared for this period, owing both to the exceptional attention devoted by Grebenshchikov and his successors to studies of heterogeneous borosilicate glasses [1–4] and to comprehensive analysis of various aspects of the microheterogeneous structure of glasses in the course of lively discussions between supporters of various hypotheses of glass structure [5].
