Abstract

Regardless of the success of computerized tomography and white blood cell differentiation as discussed by Onoe (1976) and Preston (1976) the effectiveness of the application of computers to other tasks in medical image processing is still questionable (see Agrawala, 1977) Great research efforts are still needed if one wants to bring significant advances in daily medical services through the application of image processing technology.
