Abstract
Wild animals such as the elephant (Loxodonta africana), the white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum), the zebra (Equus burcelli), and the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) being killed and illegally exploited for their meat and secondary products (horns, tusks, skins, furs). The same is true for primates, especially the pygmy chimpanzee (Panpaniscus), which is being heavily exploited in a number of different ways, most notably as a source of food, for the pet trade, and for biomedical research.
