Some Physicochemical Features of Surface Phenomena in High-Temperature Melts

  • Conference paper

Abstract

The process of structure formation of an alloy has a substantial influence on its properties, including the formation of the crystal faces and the character of the impurity distribution. The variety and complexity of the phenomena occurring have led to the formulation of several crystallization theories. In the meantime, the question concerning the mechanism of the influence of impurities on the crystal form and its properties is a very difficult one.
