Abstract
Fungal growth and development can be divided into three distinct phases: spore germination, vegetative growth, and reproduction. The purpose of this chapter is to organize the available information on the involvement of lipids in the germination and reproductive processes. Lipid metabolism in relation to environmental and nutritional factors during vegetative growth has been discussed in Chapter 2.
