Abstract
Since the first description of cystosarcoma phyllodes, more than 150 years ago, the question concerning the true nature of the growth has not yet been answered. Its etiology is still unknown. Its incidence is about 1 to 3% of all mammary tumors and it occurs almost exclusively in females and may be found from puberty until senescence (Table 1).
