Abstract
The examples in Chapters I and II have introduced special methods for finding exact solutions of some special equations. Generally speaking, the discovery of exact solutions of a differential equation (when this is possible) does depend upon the use of ad hoc methods or tricks, often requiring considerable ingenuity.
