Abstract
Let G be a topological group, A unitary representation T of G in the Hubert space H is a homomorphism g → T(g) of G in the group of unitary operators on H (i.e. T(g1 g2) = T(g1) · T(g2). We also require the continuity of the maps from G to H given by g → T(g)x for every x ∈ H.
