Abstract
Antibody against homogeneous terminal transferase (1) has turned out to be an essential reagent for biological and biochemical investigations on the occurrence and structure of the enzyme. Carefully prepared antibody preparations have allowed characterization of the normal cells that contain TdT (2–4), analysis of leukemic cell populations (5), and, most recently, new insight into the conservation and structure of terminal transferase peptides (6). Although preparation, characterization and use of monospecific immune reagents is a fairly routine procedure, it is of value to record some of the experience we found to be worthwhile.
