Abstract
One of the principal functions of the circulatory system is to deliver oxygen from the lungs to tissues by the red cells. Therefore, an important measure of the effectiveness of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system is the ratio of oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) concentration to the total hemoglobin concentration in blood which is called the hemoglobin oxygen saturation (OS).
