Steering of GeV Particles by Means of Channeling

Abstract

A short description of channeling as such is given with references to more detailed descriptions. Then the steering of high-energy beams from channeling is shown to influence dramatically the ionization-energy loss and different types of scattering distributions. Finally, the bending effect of channeling is discussed.
