Abstract
In a number of problems of seismic prospecting and earthquake seismology, one must study how head waves are influenced by the structure of the medium near the boundary at which they are formed. This influence is often due to interference phenomena in the transitional zone adjacent to the boundary. The effect of the interference of a small number of waves is easily computed by direct summation of the individual waves [1, 2, 5].
