Abstract

Specific radioactivities of choline (Ch), phosphorylcholine (PCh), lecithin, lysolecithin and glycerylphosphorylcholine (GPCH) have been measured in blood, liver, muscle, and including acetylcholine (ACh) in brain after injection (i.v) of three labelled precursors, Ch, the methyl group of methionine and ethanolamine. In relation to the specific activity of Ch in blood there was significantly more radioactivity in the Ch of brain after labelled methyl groups and labelled ethanolamine than after labelled Ch.
