Abstract

The measurement of the spectra of radioisotopes which emit only β-radiation is difficult to carry out because of the continuous energy spectra of these emitters. For chemical, biological, and medical applications of such isotopes, simple physical methods of measurement are impossible, since they would be far too complicated and costly. Nevertheless, it is possible to use “pseudo-spectrometric” methods to measure radioisotopes used as tracers.
