Steroid Secretory Mixtures in Man
The simultaneous determination of the secretory rates of the major adrenal hormones, cortisol, corticosterone, and aldosterone, should provide the critical information necessary to evaluate their individual and collective roles in certain clinical disorders. These procedures have been made feasible by:(1) the availability of radioactive steroids of sufficient stability and specific activity so that the amount injected is not large enough to alter normal transport and metabolism, and (2) the development of techniques to assess their rate of secretion [1–5]
