Physical Properties of Carbides of Rare-Earth Metals

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Studies in Soviet Science ((STSS))

Abstract

The results are reported of a complex study of the physical properties of a large group of dicarbides and some sesquicarbides of rare-earth metals carried out on the same specimens. Regular features were found in the changes in properties of the carbides at the transition from one phase to another. A diagram of the band structure of the rare-earth metal carbides is proposed.
