The Equilibrium Hydrogen Pressure-Temperature Diagram for The Liquid Sodium-Hydrogen-Oxygen System

  • Chapter
Book cover Material Behavior and Physical Chemistry in Liquid Metal Systems

Abstract

The composition-temperature phase diagram for the sodium-hydrogen-oxygen system is complex and not amenable to simple interpretation. However, the underlying equilibria in this system can be more simply represented in the form of a complementary hydrogen equilibrium pressure-temperature diagram, which has been constructed using published data supplemented by experimental measurements of hydrogen equilibrium pressures over condensed phases in this system. Possible applications of the diagram and limitations regarding its use are outlined.
