Summary

Recent progress in thin-layer chromatography (TLC) as a means for the separation of enantiomers is reviewed. The areas discussed include separations using ligand exchange, ion-pair, cyclodextrin and “Pirkle”-based chiral TLC systems. The use of these systems for the chromatographic separation of a variety of enantiomers is described and the robustness, reliability and problems associated with each of these methods considered.
