Abstract
Acute renal failure (ARF) is still a frequent event in the immediate post-transplant period. In itself, it has usually no dramatic consequence since, following a period of 2 to 3 weeks when dialysis is frequently required, renal function develops up to a normal degree in most cases. However, ARF over these initial weeks may mask some of the clinical manifestations of other post-transplant complications, especially rejection crises, and delay their treatment.
