Abstract
It is shown that in Nb-Zr-Ta and Nb-Ti-Ta alloys obtained by electron-beam melting the reduction of microscopic inhomogeneities (segregations) as revealed by x-ray microanalysis leads to a fall in the superconducting-transformation temperature. The same effect is found in an Nb-52%Zr alloy after reducing the amount of microscopic segregation (liquation) by zone melting.
