The Influence of Powder Synthesis Techniques on Processes Occurring During Compact Formation and its Sintering

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Materials Science Research ((MSR,volume 17))

Abstract

Usual equations for sintering assume a regular arrangement of spherical particles in a compact system and uniform small grain size, composition and structure. In fact, these conditions are seldom fulfilled. This explains most of the limitations of the sintering process.
