Abstract
Compared to cerebral arterial insults, diseases of the brain due to partial or complete occlusion of cerebral veins are rare. In one-fifth of all patients with cerebral vein thrombosis (CVT) no cause may be detected. Computerized tomography of the brain (CCT) can be performed in most neurologic centers to establish a diagnosis.
