CO2 Laser-Plasma Interaction Studies At NRC-Canada

  • Chapter

Abstract

The principal characteristics and present output performance of the COCO-II, high power two beam 0.1 TW, CO2 system will be described. In addition an overall view of the diagnostics being developed to analyse laser-plasmas will be given. These include infrared backscattered light analysis with high temporal and spectral resolution, multichannel picosecond interferometry, x-ray spectral diagnostics, and ion spectrometry.

Presented at the Fourth Workshop on “Laser Interaction and Related Plasma Phenomena” held at RPI, Troy, New York, November 8–12, 1976.
