Abstract
Since the end of the last century it has been known that there exist solid electrolytes, that is, solid compounds with practically pure ionic conductivity. This was first established by transference measurements.(1) Solid electrolytes made possible the development of the electrochemistry of solid compounds. This was slow at first, but has become rapid in the last fifteen years, partly due to the discoverv of new solid electrolvtes with high ionic conductivitv.
