Abstract
The symposium represented by the contents of this volume was held at Brookhaven National Laboratory during 22–25 May 1988 to discuss applications of synchrotron radiation to structural biology. The program included descriptions of the facilities available for biological studies at seven synchrotron radiation sources around the world. There are a dozen beamlines effectively dedicated to this research.
