Abstract

Coronary artery by-pass graft (CABG) surgery relieves chest pain due to coronary artery disease (CAD) and improves quality of life in 60–90% of patients, while the effect of this surgical procedure on ventricular performance requires further elucidation[1,2,3]. Because of the regional nature of CAD, assessment of global and regional ventricular function is important in evaluation and prognosis of patients with CAD[4]. Thus, the present investigation is designed to assess left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and regional wall motion (RWM) by non invasive radionuclide angiography (RNA) in patients with CAD before and after CABG.
