Abstract
The purpose of this report is twofold, viz. (1) to review the information concerning α which one can derive, both in principle and in practice, from precision measurements of the hyperfine splitting, Δν, of muonium; (2) to describe a novel technique for measuring Δν to high accuracy which we have recently developed at Chicago.
