Abstract
In the early work of Donnelly and Roberts1 on the trapping of negative ions by vortex lines in He II (bubble radius R, vortex circulation κ = h/m, and core parameter a) it was noted in passing that the trapping lifetime did not exhibit quite the right temperature dependence required by experiment.
