The Scattering of Light by Liquid 4He Close to the λ-Line

Abstract

For several years now hope has existed that the scattering of visible light by liquid 4He would prove a useful tool in the experimental investigation of the λ-transition. In this paper we report some progress that we have made toward the realization of this hope.
