Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 159))

Abstract

The redox state of the respiratory chain gives information about the oxygen supply and metabolise of tissue. Due to some members of the respiratory chain having characteristic absorption spectra in the visible range, spectrophotometric methods have been used to study the redox states in vivo.
