Abstract

Many studies have demonstrated the prevalence of behavioral disorders in the elderly, severe enough to be classified as psychoses. Huge numbers of aged persons, residing in mental hospitals, extended care facilities, nursing homes, rest homes, homes for the aged, in their own homes, or in the homes of their families, suffer from serious impairment due to these severe psychiatric disorders.
