Abstract
It is possible to look at the representation of shapes within a CAD system in two ways. First, we are interested in storing the geometry and we look at this here in terms of certain of the points or nodes that comprise the shape. Second, the topology is important, that is how these nodes are joined together to create the shapes we require.
