Abstract
A project is something set up to achieve a specific goal within a limited period of time. It is not a routine activity, and it is not a permanent organisational fixture. It will compete for resources and for management attention with all the other, well established activities of the company. It will probably cut across the normal management structure. Organisations which are willing to tolerate and support this will operate successful projects.
