Incidence of Renal Stones in Western Countries

  • Conference paper

Abstract

Since 1970 we have carried out a number of studies of the occurrence of renal stones in the unselected population in different types of health surveys1−7. This brief review summarizes some of the experiences from these investigations. It also includes results from a recent study in which almost 2000 60-year-old men were re-assessed 10 years after their initial evaluation8, to enable us to estimate prospectively the natural history of stones.
