Abstract

This chapter concerns the age at which the offenses in the two cohorts were committed. Thus, these data are akin to the age-specific arrest rates published in the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports. As such, these data represent the distribution of offenses by age for the complete juvenile career, and although our research is longitudinal, the present data are generally comparable to other police-based age-at-offense data, whether cross-sectional or longitudinal.
