Abstract
Unmanned production is receiving increasing attention in the machine tool industry. Metal-cutting machine tools using programmed control are often operated by operators with comparatively low qualifications, and industrial robots with controllers are to replace them. In order to match the operation of a metal-cutting machine tool combined with an industrial robot an additional controller is necessary, the design of which presents considerable difficulty. This problem is easily solved by the use of flexible automatic production.
