Abstract
For nearly four years after that, Uncle Will and Aunt Beth vanished from those parts. They just up and disappeared without a trace. I thought about Uncle Will often and wondered what had happened to him. From time to time I asked my grandmother, to whom I was very close, where she thought he might be. “Lord, I’ve got no idea,” she’d answer. “He could be dead for all I know.”
