Abstract
“In October of ’29, the terrible stock market crash hit. I read in the newspaper about people jumpin’ outa skyscrapers and that sorta thing in New York City, and there was even a few people over in Chattanooga that lost everything. Not me, though. I’d made a little money on crops and had right at two thousand dollars hidden in the safest place I knew—right under my mattress.
