Abstract
I first met Uncle Will just before I turned three, on a day Daddy hitched up our one-horse wagon and carried me and several of my cousins to visit great-grandmother Rebecca. It’s my first memory of seeing her, and from that moment on I knew her as old, mostly blind, and mean.
