Abstract
What is the nature of the creative process in scientific research, and how does it engender discovery and the invention of new scientific understanding? This book provides an opportunity to clarify these questions in the descriptions it presents of the complex transactional processes that affect scientists as persons, as participants in social and organizational groups, and as thinkers whose intellectual and emotional energies are heavily invested in responding to new observations, technological advances, and new conceptual models of reality.
