Abstract
It is a rare privilege to have the opportunity to ask the fundamental questions posed by the many and varied clinical problems people with generalized epilepsy present. Answers to these problems, many as yet unavailable, should permit not only better control of the symptoms but also rational correction of the causes, and, eventually, prevention of the occurrence of generalized epilepsy, this experiment of nature that is so closely related to the normal functioning of the brain.
