Abstract

Among robot applications in all industries, the use of robots for unloading plastic injection molding machines is one of the most common and most cost effective. There are also a wide variety of other applications for robots in the plastics industry:

  • Material handling: moving large and small plastic parts, which may be hot or fragile, without fatigue

  • Machining: trimming, deflashing, drilling, degating

  • Material deposition: spraying paint, resins, adhesives, glues and stain
