Abstract

An estimated 40 percent of the labor force in this country is devoted to parts transfer and palletizing operations (Ref. 1). Many of these repetitive jobs offer little challenge to the worker, and often result in high absentee rates, as well as lower efficiency. Therefore, companies must seriously consider cost-effective alternatives.
