Abstract
Surge suppression components and assemblies are relatively recent additions to the science of protecting against lightning’s destructive effects. As pointed out in the preceding chapter, surge suppression technology has followed in the wake of ever increasing sensitivity of electronic devices to small and fleeting currents induced by lightning flashes, atmospheric electrification, and even by electrical switching.
