A New System to Study DNA Amplification in Streptomyces Lividans

  • Chapter
Genetics and Product Formation in Streptomyces

Abstract

Streptomycetes are known for an unusual high genetic instability caused by spontaneous deletions of up to 20% of their genome size. Very often the deletions are accompanied by one or more amplifications of DNA sequences on the chromosome[1–5].
