Abstract
Streptomycetes are Gram-positive soil microorganisms which differentiate into substrate mycelium and spores. They produce a broad range of different metabolites, such as extracellular enzymes, enzyme inhibitors, pigments, cytostatics and antibiotics. Results from several researchers (1–7,10) have demonstrated that Streptomyces strains are often genetically unstable.
