Bromoperoxidase from Streptomyces Aureofaciens Tü24 and its Role in 7-Chlorotetracycline Biosynthesis

  • Chapter
Genetics and Product Formation in Streptomyces

Abstract

Streptomyces aureofaciens Tü24 and S. aureofaciens ATCC 10762 both produce the antibiotics tetracycline and 7-chlorotetracycline. The biosynthetic pathway for tetracycline and 7-chlorotetracvcline is identical with the exception of the chlorination step (1, Fig. 1).
