Abstract

Candida spp. are opportunistic fungal pathogens of immunosuppressed people, and Candida albicans is the most commonly isolated species of this genus. Candida pseudotropicalis, also known as the imperfect (asporogenous) form of Kluyveromyces fragilis, has been generally isolated from genital candidiasis in man 1,2.
