Abstract
Hyperthermia for superficial tumors has been considered standard treatment since 1984, based on multiple reports showing synergistic therapeutic advantage in combination with radiotherapy compared to irradiation alone (Table 1). Results of external hyperthermia treatments for deep tumors combined with irradiation or chemotherapy have shown significant improvement over controls (24).
